Sarah spent the last ten years developing her skills as an educator in Japan, Germany, and most recently, in Ontario’s most northern community, Fort Severn. Her students and the community members in Fort Severn who taught her how to live off the land had an indelible impact on her and her approach to teaching. Sarah is an Ontario College of Teachers registered primary/junior teacher, with a Bachelor’s of Education from the University of Ottawa. Her specializations are in alternative, holistic, and mindful education. Sarah also enjoys incorporating her yoga and meditation practices into her classroom teachings. Sarah is an active artist, with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Concordia University. She recently earned her Senior Division Visual Arts teaching certification from Queen’s University. She is happiest when she is home, gardening on her farm with her four dogs and 50 chickens.
