Katie has over 10 years of experience working across both the education and nonprofit sectors. An OCT-certified teacher and Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), she brings expertise from both fields to lead the HR, operations, and finance functions of Gakino’amaage: Teach For Canada. Before joining Gakino’amaage: Teach For Canada, Katie completed her Bachelor of Education at Brock University and her Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo, later obtaining a Certificate in Human Resources Management from Fleming College. She has taught secondary science in the United Kingdom, led environmental programs with First Nations youth in northern Ontario, and served as a part-time biology instructor at Georgian College.

Katie is an active member in her community and serves on her local Community Recreation Board. She loves travelling and learning new things, but when at home can most often be found reading a good book, running on the local trails, or playing with her two children.
