2024-25 Indigenous Education Speaker Series – Part 3: Bringing Land-Based Learning into the Classroom with Carolynne Crawley

Join us for the third and final session in the 2024–25 Indigenous Education Speaker Series, exploring the theme of Land-Based Learning.

Indigenous peoples have long understood the deep, interconnected relationships between all beings and the Earth. As educators seek to honour these teachings in their classrooms, this session offers practical guidance on respectfully integrating land-based learning and Indigenous knowledges.

This session will share ways to bring land-based learning into the classroom. Carolynne Crawley will suggest various activities for all grades that can connect students with the land while honouring Indigenous knowledges. She will speak to the importance of including two-eyed seeing in the curriculum.

The session will include a one-hour open discussion for sharing and questions.

Following the first two sessions—Canada’s Colonial Past & Present and Building Responsible, Reciprocal Relationships with the Earth—this final installment invites participants to explore how these understandings can take shape in educational spaces. Attending all three sessions has offered the opportunity to deepen learning, reflection, and engagement with this critical topic.

Don’t miss this chance to learn with Carolynne Crawley and connect with the teachings of Land-Based Learning.
