Allison is excited to be part of the Gakino’amaage: Teach For Canada team. Having spent her entire career working in education, she completed her Master of Science in Teaching in New York State. After a brief time teaching in Canada, her career took her to South Korea and England, where she experienced different education systems and cultural environments.
With a passion for teaching and travel, Allison then moved into international education recruitment, working with organizations that recruited teachers for South Korea and England. She had the pleasure of helping hundreds of teachers relocate to teach in a new country. She has also led groups of teachers to India and Uganda to partner with remote schools, sharing teaching practices and strengthening their skills as educators together.
After living and working overseas for almost 15 years, Allison returned to Canada. Being back has given her a renewed appreciation for this amazing country, and she is excited to join Gakino’amaage where she can continue helping others explore the world through teaching opportunities.
In her free time, you can find Allison outside – spending time with her horse, tending to her beehives, hiking, snowshoeing, or skating – always looking to learn from nature.
